Beginning Band
Beginning Band offers a unique opportunity for students to learn brass and woodwind instruments in high school, even if they missed out on the opportunity to take band in middle school. All students are welcome to join Beginning Band and begin their journey as a musician!
About the Course
Course Description
Beginning Band is a year-long beginning performing ensemble is for students who are interested in learning various wind instruments, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, or tuba. Students will learn basic musicianship on their chosen instrument, music literacy, rehearsal and practice techniques, and be exposed to a wide range of musical styles and cultures. No audition or experience is required. Beginning Band students are expected to attend additional concerts outside of scheduled class time throughout the year. Students may audition for Advanced Band the following year. This course may be repeated for credit.
